About ABCUL

The Association of British Credit Unions Limited (ABCUL) is the main trade association for credit unions in Britain. It’s made up of a number of co-operatives, and actually runs as a co-operative itself, governed by volunteer directors.

Their vision is that credit unions will become the foremost source of ethical financial services for anyone living in Great Britain. So what is a credit union? Essentially, it’s a financial institution that is controlled by its members, operating on the principle of people helping each other to benefit the collective.

With ABCUL, you can borrow between £100 and £15,000. You can spread your repayments over 3 to 60 months, with the Representative APR starting from around 10.9%.
